Conversion

Unlike a typical software installation and implementation, The TAG™ Solution requires a simple conversion or transfer of data from a customer's legacy system into our user-friendly web-based solution.  The conversion is systematic phased approach and comes with a TAG™ Account Rep who will guide the process and shoulder most of the hard work.  When necessary, TAG™ can provide customer on-site assistance to expedite the export of various electronic data for the pre-conversion phase.       

Much of the pre-conversion time is spent learning about your company's historical experiences, compiling historical data, and establishing company setup preferences and login authorities. We assess your existing financial recordkeeping, job costing, reporting and supportive people and processes. Interviews and a review of existing reports serve to provide the bulk of information required.  The goal is to gather a complete understanding of how your business works. Corrective actions, if any, are discussed in advance. 

As your business partner, we discuss and quantify the how the change to TAG™ will affect / not affect the existing work environment. Data compilation for conversion to TAG™ occurs simultaneously.

Typically, active information in the following will be imported in detail:

  • Open purchase orders
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Retainage details
  • Payroll
  • Jobs in progress
  • General ledger detail

Inactive or closed items are carried over in sum totals. TAG™ supplements this initiating data as needed, post-conversion, with information deemed less time critical than that involving current and future construction work.

  • Systematic conversion broken into 3 phases:
    • Pre-conversion
    • Conversion or switchover
    • Post-conversion
  • Account Rep assigned to assist does most of the work
  • Pre-conversion:
    • Vendors, customers, open project, cash rec items, import
    • Employee and resource setup
    • Payroll/setup (two week lead time)
    • Customer Business Portal set, interface/navigation
    • Workflow setup and navigation, training
  • Conversion:
    • General Ledger and activity as of conversion date
  • Post-conversion:
    • Closed projects remain in the legacy database
    • Custom reporting, if needed
    • On-going training as your production staff acclimate
